# Nutrition Check-in

> Use FITsociety MCP to review nutrition plans, logs, foods, and recipes.

This workflow helps a coach review nutrition progress before a client check-in.

## Required access

| Module | Why |
| :- | :- |
| `clients` | Find and confirm the client. |
| `goals` | Review or update daily and weekday-specific nutrition targets. Requires health data consent. |
| `nutrition_plans` | Review the client's assigned plan. |
| `nutrition_logs` | Review logged days and meals. Requires health data consent. |
| `nutrition_catalog` | Look up foods, recipes, and supplements when explaining entries. |

## Example prompt

```text theme={null}
Review Emma's nutrition logs for the last week and compare them with her active
nutrition plan. Highlight anything the coach should discuss.
```

## Typical tool sequence

1. `search_clients` to identify the client.
2. `get_client_goals` to review current nutrition targets when targets matter.
3. `get_client_nutrition_overview` to summarize recent logging, adherence, gaps, and active plan context.
4. `get_nutrition_day` for meal-level detail when a specific day needs inspection.
5. `list_nutrition_plans` and `get_nutrition_plan` when the coach needs deeper plan structure.
6. `validate_nutrition_plan` before storing a generated or imported plan.
7. `preview_nutrition_day_item_change` or `preview_nutrition_plan_item_change` before changing planned items.
8. `set_client_nutrition_targets`, `set_nutrition_day_item`, `set_nutrition_plan_item`, `create_nutrition_plan`, or `materialize_nutrition_days` only after the coach asks to change data.
9. `get_food_product`, `search_food_products`, `get_recipe`,
   `search_recipes`, `get_supplement`, or `search_supplements` when the coach
   asks about catalog details.

## Consent requirement

Nutrition logs are health-sensitive. The grant must include health data consent
before the assistant can use `nutrition_logs`.

## Output to expect

The assistant should return:

* which days were reviewed
* missing or incomplete logs
* high-level macro or meal observations when available
* plan alignment notes
* suggested check-in questions for the coach
