Use this guide when you want ChatGPT to call FITsociety MCP tools in ChatGPT workflows that support custom MCP apps/connectors.

Prerequisites

Before connecting, make sure:
  • your company has the mcp feature enabled
  • a Manager or Admin coach has created an MCP grant (OAuth consent or a static MCP API key) for the access you need

Availability

ChatGPT MCP access depends on your plan, region, and workspace settings. If you do not see custom apps or connector settings, ask the workspace admin to enable custom MCP apps/connectors.

Add the connector

In ChatGPT:
  1. Open workspace or app settings for apps/connectors.
  2. Create a custom app or connector.
  3. Use the FITsociety MCP server URL:
  4. Save the connector and start the authorization flow.

Authentication

Use OAuth for ChatGPT. FITsociety redirects the signed-in approver to the matching consent flow where they approve:
  • the grant subject, either company/coach access or client AI access
  • allowed modules
  • optional write tools
  • health data consent when needed
  • private communication consent when needed
After approval, ChatGPT receives an OAuth token pair and can call only the tools allowed by that grant.

Available FITsociety features

ChatGPT connects to the same FITsociety MCP server and tool catalog as other MCP clients. With equivalent approved access, the server returns the same tool definitions, input/output schemas, and supported operations. Company/coach connections use company tools; client AI connections use the client’s own tools. The granted modules, write permissions, enabled features, and health/private-communication consent determine what each connection can use. When an OAuth request omits module scopes, FITsociety proposes a default module selection. Review that selection during authorization and enable the additional eligible modules and write tools needed for your workflows. The default is an initial selection, not the full available catalog. Only enable write tools after the read-only connection is working.
